Everything you need to know about Pontea
📌About the service
Pontea is a collaborative project management tool. You can create projects, add tasks, track their status, and invite team members via a direct secure link.
It is designed for small teams — developers and clients who need a shared workspace for managing tasks.
🔐Registration & login
To get started, register via the sign-up form or with your Google account.
Provide your name, email address, and a password (at least 6 characters). You don't need to choose a role at registration — your status is assigned automatically when you create or join a project.
You can sign in at any time via the /login page.
📁Projects
Your dashboard home page shows all your projects.
• Create a project — click "Create project" and enter a name. You become the Superadmin.
• Join a project — simply follow the secure invitation link. You receive the Client role.
• Each project is displayed with a unique color to help you navigate quickly.
👤Project roles
Each project member has one of three roles:
🔵 Superadmin (developer)
Assigned to the project creator. Full access: manage tasks, rename the project, change member roles, remove members, and delete the project.
🟣 Admin (moderator)
Assigned by the superadmin. Same rights as superadmin, except managing members.
⚪ Client
Assigned to users who join via secure link. Can create tasks, change their status (move to review, cancel, mark as done), and view project tasks.
A superadmin can change roles using the dropdown next to each member.
✅Tasks
Tasks can be created inside a project or from the task feed.
Task fields:
• Title — required
• Description — optional text
• Priority — low / medium / high
• Status — New → In Progress → Review → Done (or Cancelled)
• Deadline — optional date
• Images — attach photos or screenshots
Status changes:
• Client — can move tasks to Review, Cancelled, or Done
• Superadmin and Admin — can set any status
Deleting tasks:
• Task authors can delete their own tasks
• Superadmin and Admin can delete any task in the project
📋Task feed
Below the project list on the dashboard you'll find the "Task feed" — a combined view of all tasks across all your projects.
Each task shows which project it belongs to. The feed can be collapsed into a header bar or expanded — this preference is saved between sessions.
The feed supports filters by priority, deadline, and author, as well as sorting and search.
🚪Leaving a project
Any member can leave a project: open the members list (👥) in the project header and click "Leave project" next to your name.
A superadmin cannot leave if they are the only superadmin — first promote another member to superadmin or delete the project.
